The Course

A Trent Jones original, carved through the pines.

Opened in 1957 as one of Robert Trent Jones Sr.'s early designs and redesigned in 1994 by his son Rees, the layout asks for every club in the bag: tree-lined corridors, bold green complexes and the elevation changes of the Piedmont.

Our Story

Seven decades of Duke golf.

From plans drawn before the war to a modern renovation, the course has grown alongside the university it calls home.

1940s

Perry Maxwell's plans

Maxwell submits the first routing for a Duke course. World War II puts the project on hold.

1957

Robert Trent Jones Sr.

The course opens as one of the legendary architect's early designs.

1994

Rees Jones redesign

Jones' son Rees renovates the layout, sharpening greens, bunkers and strategy.

Open to all
